The Ring-necked Parakeet is the UK's only wild parrot, commonly seen (even more frequently heard) in flocks in London and the South East of England. It is also known as the feral parakeet, Kingston parakeet or Twickenham parakeet. Native to Africa and the Indian Subcontinent, they are a surprisingly tropical sight in the suburbs.
This Long-tailed tit brooch is created from many layers of fabrics that are embroidered and painted to create a three-dimensional effect. The reverse is backed with soft felt and the edges are sealed so that the fabric does not fray. The brooch is lightweight, soft, flexible and fairly robust so very easy to wear on any garment.
The brooch is a perfect gift for a bird lover and comes packaged in a gift box measuring 14cm by 9cm.
