Growing up in rural Oxfordshire, Vikki developed a deep appreciation for the countryside and an enduring fascination with nature and wildlife. Her first textile project, at the age of seven, was inspired by William Morris and depicted sparkling petals drifting gracefully down the River Thames at Morris’ countryside home in Kelmscott. She dreamed of fairies living in crumbling Cotswold stone walls and was endlessly captivated by the flora and fauna of meadows and woodlands.
This early connection with nature, combined with a love of art and textiles, led her to study Embroidery, followed by a Master’s degree in Textile Design in 2006. Since then, she has worked as a designer-maker, creating wearable art, textile jewellery, and accessories that celebrate the exquisite beauty of the natural world. In 2016, Vikki won 1st prize and Best in Show for her wearable art creation Ocean’s Last Gasp at the Art Couture Festival. The sculptural dress was both an homage to the beauty of the ocean and a poignant cry of concern for the suffocation of coral reefs.
For the past ten years, Vikki has worked from her studio in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, a charming space that was once the stables of a coaching inn. There, she combines machine and hand embroidery, cutwork, heat manipulation, and hand-painting techniques—happily creating all kinds of chaos with thread and paint. Through these processes, she transforms simple fabrics
and threads into unique, decorative, and beautifully wearable pieces, designed
to be worn, loved, and treasured.
