Mountain Hare brooch, embroidered and hand painted wild hare pin

This hare brooch is a cute, Winter version of the mountain hare, also known as the Blue Hare, tundra hare, white hare, snow hare, alpine hare and Irish hare.

The mountain hare lives in Scotland and the north of England, as well as Ireland, Iceland, Scandinavia, Siberia and the Baltics. The mountain hare is well known for turning from brown in the Summer to White in the Winter. It is smaller than the brown hare and has shorter ears.

This brooch is carefully crafted from faux suede, faux fur and thread, layered to create a three dimensional effect that is then hand painted to achieve exquisite detail. The reverse is backed with soft felt and the edges are sealed so that the fabric does not fray. The brooch is lightweight, soft, flexible and fairly robust so very easy to wear on any garment.

This hare brooch is perfect for a nature lover and comes mounted on card and packaged in a gift box measuring 9cm by 9cm.
